Take a deep dive into the magical world of RISO printing! This two-day intensive workshop takes place Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th, 2025, 10am-5pm with a lunch break from 1-2pm.

Risograph printing is similar to screen printing but with the speed of a copy machine. Its accessibility, print quality, and cost efficiency make it a perfect medium for independent publishers, zine makers, graphic designers, illustrators, and photographers.

On day one, students will be given a thorough overview of RISO printing and its range of printing techniques. Participants will work both analog and digital, and then design and print a small edition of 2-color prints.

On day two, participants will receive a friendly introduction to self-publication and zines, then collaborate to design, print, and produce a short zine together from start to finish.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will leave with an edition of their own prints, as well as one of each of their classmates' prints, a PSP riso color chart, and two copies of the collaborative zine.

In addition, attendees will be eligible to return for studio time by appointment to use the RISO!

$250/person includes all supplies. Participants should bring a laptop or tablet, and a design or photograph to be used for a two-color print edition.
